We have been opened for a month but have been tweaking, refining, and getting used to the day-to-day operation. Now we are ready for the big reveal that is the Grand Gee Opening! It is happening this week, and I am super excited. Because of this, I will no longer be talking about all the beautiful things that were piling up all over my home, because they are no longer. I am ecstatic about the store. It is a perfect creative outlet for me (strange to say that as a career photographer, no?) , but more importantly, everything has its place! Beautiful things deserve to be in a beautiful place that belongs totally to them, until someone who absolutely loves them picks them up and takes them home, don’t you think?

All arrows had been pointing towards this direction for a while, but I was too preoccupied by short-term solution to see where the road was leading. Although, I have always been in love with what I do, including my day jobs, opening this store has shown me passion on a-whole-nother level.

So I am now working on that future I was always talking about. The one where I walk around poshly, finally wearing all the beautiful clothes that I love so much

Huge apology for the rude disappearance. What happened in the aforementioned paradise led me to quickly take steps in the direction of following my current dream as soon as I came back. Since then, there has not been much time to take a full breath or have a full night sleep because LIFE IS SIMPLY TOO EXCITING.

Because of this, I am sad to report that any freshness in appearance I may have acquired from time in paradise has dissipated completely. I am as haggardly as I ever was. But I sure have plenty of new sparkles in my (wrinkly) eyes!

What?! Where do I live, because I want to move there!

Also, how life was possible before the storage unit, I will never know.

Like my DIY racks fashioned out of chains and old canopy poles? Perfection +1. And there is still all this room…

Obviously I’m not a big believer in maximizing space usage at the moment, but we will get to that eventually. Right now it’s just fun to pretend I have a “store” full of stuff in my size where I can go shop. For free!

Another news, I will be disappearing into paradise tomorrow night, where there will be no TV, cellphone, computer, or stress. When I emerge in 3 weeks, you probably won’t recognize me, looking 10 years younger and all ; ) But I will make sure to say hello first.

This last one will be my interpretation of a photographer’s vest + backpack + purse. NEED.

Did a little search and found them on sale for 14.99 each! What!?! I was really hoping for a black pair of the same, but no luck. No size. So I’m picking up a different version with peep toe and mini hidden wedge. Yay. After a bit digging, it looks like the company might be out of business. Poo. But according to this link,

I will take anything that is indicative of my career blossoming, thank you.

Slow start without the usual beloved team, but it turned out really good after all. Always fun to work with new peeps. Photos, and maybe a tiny video, will be up on optarevintage.com when I have time to edit down shots and put stuff up for sale. Probably not until after this work week madness.

Let’s get on to important stuff: my new shoes.

After a bit of road test, I can say that these giant red babies are unbelievably comfortable, despite and especially for their height. It feels like your feet are wrapped in soft luxurious cushiony clouds plus industrial strenght arch support. The style really grew on me too, very vintagey and oh so tall. Only negative is they kept falling off in the back, so I stuck some jelly things in there, and now they stay put and are most perfect. Think these can be my work/run around town daily shoes even with the height. Maybe I won’t have to climb on things so much for higher shots.

And this is one of the 42856 important things I am debating today while the to-shoot pile gets tinier and tinier.

Final verdict: keep forever and wear everyday. No more sad day for the rest of my life!
